Review Tuesday: GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY - VOL. 2

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
VOLUME 2
Things take a terrible turn when Peter Quill is reunited with his father.
The team returns after the first smash hit to give audiences a second dose of what made the original movie so likeable. Back with more action and jokes, this is a 2.25 hour joyride through the galaxy.

For the first time in his life Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) meets his father, Ego (Kurt Russel) who happens to be a god.

Once you strip away all the special effects, jokes, and explosions, this is really a movie about family. It's funny how MARVEL can take a simple concept like that, load it up with a bunch of characters, and be able to make a movie that audiences actually want to go see. DC might want to steal some of their writers (although Wonder Woman is actually looking pretty good at this point).

This movie seems to provide us another clue towards the goal of the Marvel Universe, The Infinity War (and beyond, they have an arc that reaches to 2020!) next year.

Without a doubt I would call this a thoroughly enjoyable film. And don't forget to sit through all of the Easter eggs at the end. There's five (?!?!) of them.
